Sioux Falls Atheists recommends the following current and topical movies that describe the hate being promoted now and in the past by many religious leaders, religious child-predatory behavior, extremist religious views about women's rights, and extremist religious views about the end of the world. Even a movie that offers a little countering hope to the hate being preached by some religious leaders.

Sioux Falls Atheists find the prevalence of child-predatory behavior of priests to be particularly reprehensible. And just as reprehensible is the protection and covering up of this behavior by the Catholic church. This priest predatory behavior has been going on for centuries. The Catholic church did not correct or seriously punish the predator priests in the past. They covered up this horrible behavior by simply moving the priests to a different diocese. The predatory priests could then proceed to prey on a whole new group of innocent children. What a sweet deal for a pedophile. Those in the church who have sexually abused children should get long prison sentences just like anyone else would, not left to the Catholic church to correct through penances and prayer, and then to be simply forgiven. That is not punishment.

Another movie describes the Catholic Church's involvement in wars, genocide, anti-Semitism, and religious extremism all for the sake of power, all in the name of God. Starting back with the reign of the Roman Emperor Constantine in 300 AD, the Catholic church was responsible for the Crusades which murdered millions in the name of God, was responsible for the Inquisition which murdered tens of thousands in the name of God, and did not protest the murdering of the Jews by the Nazis. The actual list is much longer. All this is revealed by a Catholic Priest who researched the history of the Catholic Church using the church's own archives. The coverup of the Catholic Church's full involvement in these atrocities continues to this day.

The movies are all available from Amazon.com but you are free to obtain them from many other sources. Amazon offers them on their website along with many alternate sources, often less expensive. Many are probably also available on NetFlix.com and elsewhere for on-line viewing. You are free to choose whatever source you please.
